Caring for your print
A 3D printed sculpture will last decades indoors with almost no effort. A few things genuinely matter.
Cleaning
Dust with a dry, soft brush — a clean makeup brush is ideal for ornate detail — or a microfibre cloth. For a deeper clean on a sealed piece, use a barely damp cloth and dry it immediately.
Do not put any printed piece in a dishwasher, and avoid solvent-based cleaners, which can craze the surface and lift paint.
Heat
This is the one real risk. PLA begins to soften around 55–60 °C, which a closed car in an Indian summer easily reaches. Never leave a piece on a dashboard or parcel shelf, and keep it away from radiators and direct afternoon sun through glass.
Resin and PETG tolerate more heat, but the same advice applies.
Sunlight
Sustained direct UV will fade pigments and can make some plastics brittle over years. A spot out of direct sunlight keeps colours true far longer.
Handling
Lift by the body or base, never by a thin extremity — flutes, trishuls, spears, wings and outstretched arms are the thinnest sections and will take the stress first.
